privacy policy
Last updated October 23, 2026
BuyFlipSold (https://buyflipsold.com) is a local classifieds site for Illinois. This policy explains what we collect and how we use it.
What we collect
- Account info: your email address and a hashed (never plain-text) 6-digit PIN if you set one.
- Google sign-in: if you choose "Continue with Google", we receive your verified email address and your Google account ID. We do not receive your password, contacts or friends list, and we never post on your behalf.
- Ads you post: title, description, price, photos, region, category, and an approximate location (randomly shifted about ¼ mile before it is saved; we never store or show your exact location).
- Messages and replies you send through the site, and ratings you leave.
- Technical data: a login cookie, and a hashed, truncated version of your IP address used for counting ad views, spam and abuse prevention, and rate limiting.
How we use it
To run the site: show your ads, deliver replies to sellers, let you log in, prevent fraud and spam, and moderate content. Your email is not shown on your ads. Reply forms hide it from other users until you reply to someone.
What we don't do
We do not sell your personal information, and we don't share it with advertisers. We use no third-party ad trackers. Map tiles are loaded from OpenFreeMap, and Google is contacted only when you choose to sign in with it.
Retention and deletion
Ads expire after 45 days. You can delete any ad or your whole account at any time. See data deletion instructions.
